rick made it!

Rick rode into Denver from Indy going no faster than 60 most of the way because of a fucked up vacuum petcock, the day after he got into town we took off. after a new petcock, hugs and some sunscreen we were on the way to Arizona! slept in the mountians next to a closed down gas station....a fire at a gas station? fuck it why not.....it was cold

Day 1

so me and Lee met up in Terre Haute Indiana and took off for the coast. this is the mileage starting terre haute, 2957-115. soooooooo 2842 is what i had on the bike when we left

things were going great, good weather and the bike felt strong, we made it to the St. Louis arch and i noticed alot of smoke coming from my valve cover vent......... let the bike cool off for awhile then took off for Kansas City.made it about an hour away from the city when i started hearing this superloud valve noise so i decided i better check it out. i popped off the valve cover to find this bullshit........

pyro city, thanks for being my garage for 4 hours, you're the best....the rockers were ground down and the cam was scorched but we had to make it to Kansas city so i took it all apart and cleaned out the oil passage that was clogged and reset the valves and we took back off down the road.

back home solo

ill be damned....el manana came again.

rolled into town around 2am this morning, just enough time to go to the the bar and grab a beer. rode back across solo, rick got the itch and decided to stay in Frisco. San Fransisco to Indiana in 5 days. 5 days riddled with clogged oil passages, worn rocker arms gallons of oil and smoked cams.

not to mention all the "interesting" people i met along the way back.
photos to come, im running on 2 hours of sleep from last night so i dont feel like fucking with it.

made it!

made it to the Born Free show..... its been close to 2 weeks since we left and i have seen more than i have my entire life. colorado is beautiful (FUCK LIGHTNING), great roads and great people, kansas fucking sucks, arizona is fucking great, and california is california. over 3000 miles so far. i smoked my cam and went through 4 rocker arms because of a clogged oil passage, tore apart the top end in a gas station parking lot in kansas, cracked my frame in 2 places (all the way through on one tube and 3/4 on another), a saddle bag fell off in a gas station in nevada, lee's battery died about 1o seconds after we left Born Free, slept face down in gravel as soon as we got into Nevada. fucking great times, literally!

have met such great people, ricky and the guys at anchor cycles in kansas, the guys at 2 wheelers in denver, all the alabama kids, brian in longmont Co., Julie in Denver Warren from Jr's cycles and fuck the list goes on and on, every one has been great. marisa and nelly in Echo Park...the guys at garage Co. yeah like i said, everyone has been great. photos will be up sometime

back on the road....

tomorrow.

been staying in Longmont Co. for the last few days with one of lees friends Brian. brians awesome, we put a new oil pan on his bike to show our appreciation, he has been nothing but good to us. check out Lee's blog to read about getting our ass kicked by air (scary shit). bike is only running on 3 cylinders, i have tried everything i can think of to line it out (points timing, coil, wires, plugs, valves, condensers, plug gap, different heat range plug, cleaned carb, seafoam, wanter injection) and still no luck so fuck it, its getting ran that way.
