one step at a time. the motor is 98% done pretty much all new. new rods, rod bearings, piston pin races, pinion shaft, pinion race, new rollers, cam bearings, blah blah blah long story short all new bearings, new pistons/rings. bored .050 over new clutch, clutch springs, everything you can think of miced to factory specs...kick only magneto bike (i like a challenge) ,should be a solid motor (but its still an ironhead) next is deciding what i want to do with the frame.
with the outline.... Adam over at little blues said he wanted to do a backpiece so i said fuck yeah. we tried to do the entire outline in one setting, but it was just a try..... after 4 hours i gave in and he was over it too. were going to try for the other half in a few weeks.
one of the other reasons July was super busy for me is because me and josh had the opportunity to build a demolition derby car sponsored by The Atlas and Jag JagJaguwar records.
started with a stock 1971 olds delta 98 (gangsta) and waited till the week before the derby to really start working on it. theres way more that goes into building a derby car then i every imagined.
Not a bad run for a first timer', we got knocked out 3rd or 4th because the radiator hose got into the alternator blades....made for a nice ending, giant smoke cloud and a face full of coolant for me....
needless to say it was fucking awesome, i highly recommend driving in a derby if you ever get the chance.
