this is what i found in my oilpump last month.....
one of those bearings is what fucked my piston
tore down in 5 hours...not bad for the first time working on a sportster
i made a pump screen so these bearings wouldn't keep getting into the pump for the day i rode the bike....looks like it was a good idea.

other than being balls deep in chopper glory the only thing i have had other than street bikes is a 1979 yamaha mx100 (its what i learned to ride on 13 years ago)

i ended up picking up the white 96 xr400 on the right a few days ago after riding robs and its awesome.

its a little bit too tall, i can just barely touch my toes when im on flat ground but other than that its great. rode for a few hours today in the woods and fields and now its all i wanna do.

turns out the 750 smoked because a piston pin circlip broke....pin gouged a nice channel in the cylinder wall for the oil to just flow up. shavings piled up in the oil and led to ruining my crank and bearings, and also broke my rings and fucked my piston like a 2 dollar whore on saturday night.

this is why i had no oil pressure at idle, the crank/bearings was ate up so instead of just alittle oil flowing around the bearings and pushing threw the oil holes it was bleeding out and pressure wouldn't build up.

swapped the crank and bearings, back to stock cylinders and pistons, new rings, swapped cam and rocker arms.
im rocking around 20lbs of oil pressure at idle after riding all day now. used to be at about 5 lbs IF i were lucky.

Last two days

550's kinda done

picked up this 550 a few weeks ago, it wouldn't start and it ended up needing a set of rings and valve seals. got it back together at the beginning of the week and have been cruising around on it. runs pretty damn good, 100miles so far no problems other than a little valve-train noise.

anyone have an orange right sidecover,a 550Four emblem for the cover, or a half a set of intake rocker arms and a shaft?
